Privacy
This notice covers the SudoFlash iPhone app and website. Last updated: 21 September 2026.
Short version: no account is required. Core scanning and Sudoku logic run on your iPhone and work offline. On compatible iOS 27 devices, a small number of unresolved printed digits may be processed by Apple Private Cloud Compute. The app contains no advertising trackers.

Processing in the app
Grid detection, ordinary digit recognition and Sudoku logic run locally on your iPhone. Scanned puzzles, corrections, hints and history remain in the app container. Apptheism operates no app or AI server for this content.
Camera and AR
With your permission, SudoFlash uses the camera to recognise the grid and printed digits. Camera images are not saved to your photo library. Full camera frames are never sent to Apptheism or Private Cloud Compute.
Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud Compute
SudoFlash first uses local image processing and, on supported devices, Apple’s on-device Foundation Model. On iOS 27, if a small number of visually confirmed printed digits remain unresolved, SudoFlash may automatically send one composite containing only enlarged, isolated cell images to Apple Private Cloud Compute (PCC). The full camera image, the complete puzzle, corrections, hints and history are not sent.
The result is accepted only after deterministic image, Sudoku-conflict and unique-solution checks. Handwriting and coloured ink are excluded from this cloud fallback. If PCC is unavailable because there is no network connection, the device or region is not eligible, or the daily limit has been reached, SudoFlash continues with its local recognition and correction workflow.
Apple states that PCC uses request data only to fulfil the request, does not make it available to Apple staff and does not retain it after returning the response. See Apple’s Private Cloud Compute security guide.
App Store and purchases
